Peter Stuart
Chief Builder & Owner
Peter began Sterling Builders in 2012 with the vision of changing the residential construction industry. Born and raised in Maine, Peter developed his skills of building furniture, boats and restoring old buildings at a young age. While attending the University of Denver, he started in mechanical engineering then found true passion in construction and real estate. Driven by passion of building and developing with the future in mind, Peter now takes a scientific approach. Peter is a Certified Passive House Builder striving to be at the forefront of innovation as it happens. Peter has lived in Denver for over 12 years, is a husband, and father of 3 young children.
Maryette Bernhardt
Director of Finance
Maryette joins Sterling Builders after working 12 years in College Athletics where she managed daily team operations, recruiting, and program finances. As Sterling Builders Director of Finance, she oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the company as well as the financial management for all the company’s current construction projects. Maryette is a native of Maine and attended Boston University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and coaching local youth Field Hockey programs.
Janelle Mack
Executive Assistant
Janelle is Peter’s assistant, keeping his schedule, office, and projects running smoothly with her strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A California native, she’s called Colorado home for 22 years and is a proud University of Colorado Boulder graduate and Buffs fan. Outside of work, she loves being a mom to her son + daughter, cheering on her kids at their sporting events, spending time with her two dogs, catching Denver sports events or country concerts—and fun fact, she’s a former Denver Broncos Cheerleader.
Eric Harnisch
Project Lead
Eric has worked in the construction industry for the last 20 years and is a jack of all trades. He has experience with framing, tile, drywall, plumbing, shingle roofs, restoration and mold remediation, window and door install, as well as finished carpentry. He is HVAC certified with 3 EPA certifications, commercial and residential electrical certifications and solar certifications. Eric was born and raised in Arizona. He enjoys being with his kids and wife, as well as being in nature and enjoying God's beautiful creations.
neal dwelley
Project Lead
Hailing from Maine, Neal started sweeping job sites when he wasn't much taller than a trash can. An eager participant in any of the myriad tasks at hand, he has dedicated time honing his skills in nearly every facet of the construction process. Outside of work you're likely to find him on a back road, cooking over a campfire, or spinning as many yarns as tires.
Kevin dogra
Master Finish Carpenter
Kevin spent the last 10 years working in the construction industry in Hawaii building luxury custom homes. He has been involved in all aspects of construction and has an expertise in finish carpentry. His work for Sterling Builders includes constructing high-end custom cabinets, as well as being involved in millwork and woodworking. Kevin is originally from Arizona and enjoys golfing, hiking, and spending time with his wife and cat.

Brendan Miller

Micah is a finish carpenter who oversees our custom woodworking projects. His job includes building high-end custom cabinets and being involved in all aspects of woodworking and millwork. He began his career in a small start-up custom cabinet shop in Atlanta and has honed his skills over the last decade. Micah is originally from Pennsylvania and his free time is spent rock climbing locally and all over the country.
Brendan, originally from the East Coast, has called Colorado home for the past two years. With a background shaped by his father’s work in construction, he brings hands-on experience in carpentry, masonry, painting, and more. At Sterling Builders, he’s a jack of all trades—handling trim, doors, cabinets, painting, and site support. Outside of work, Brendan enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, working out, and playing guitar.

Cam Anderson is a carpenter with over six years of experience in high-end residential construction. Originally from Colorado, Cam takes pride in building homes that reflect quality craftsmanship and thoughtful detail. He enjoys the hands-on nature of carpentry and values creating spaces that homeowners can be proud of for years to come. Outside of work, Cam enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, and making the most of Colorado’s lifestyle with family and friends.
Alexander Fernandez is a carpenter with a deep respect for craftsmanship and the details that define a well-built home. With a background in residential construction and finish work, he brings precision, problem-solving, and pride to every phase of the build process. He values clean lines, thoughtful execution, and work that stands the test of time. Outside of work, Alexander enjoys traveling and spending time in the outdoors, including backpacking and backcountry snowboarding.
